Micro-Dermabrasion®

The "Pepita/Crystal" system was designed by the Italian company Mattioli Engineering in 1994 , was FDA cleared in 1996 after years of trials, the world's first closed-loop microdermabrasion system with corundum crystal with sterile operations, and was introduced in U.S. in 1997 by the initial Mattioli Engineering U.S.

A jet of microcrystals (corundum powder) is propelled across the skin's surface through a sealed tubing system with a sterilizable handpiece which removes unwanted dead skin cells and scarred tissue.A continuous vacuum of microcrystal is formed (aspiration mode) The microcrystal are finally collected in a container that holds the waste materials.
